A CREW LIKE THE TOWER OF BABEL

 

The crew was quite international and the film set looked (or sounded) like the tower of Babel with many different languages spoken by the participants :  French, Georgian, English, Turkish, Russian, Persian, Azeri and Laz.  

 

However the result wasn’t like in Babylon ! The director of the film, who spoke five languages,  could easily switch from one another in order to communicate with everybody in his native tongue. However, it could get exhausting when she had to act also  as an interpreter between different crew members. Fortunately, two other people could second her when she  ran out of voice :  the lead actor Melissa Papel, who also spoke four languages perfectly in spite of her young age, and the local actor Irfan Delibas, who spoke perfect Russian besides his native Laz, and Turkish.  This talented young man who was acting for the first time in his life, ended up learning French and teaching some Laz to the rest of the crew.
